3) Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use Cookies, local storage, pixels, and web beacons to:
– keep the Service secure and functional (essential cookies);
– remember preferences (functional cookies);
– analyze traffic and performance (analytics cookies);
– deliver and measure advertising (advertising cookies).

You can refuse or delete Cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Website may not function properly without certain cookies. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of certain tracking (such as sale/share/targeted advertising).

Cookie Choices: Use our Cookie Preferences tools (if available) or adjust your browser/device settings.

4) How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:
– operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
– communicate with you (replies, service messages, newsletters you choose to receive);
– improve recipes, layout, and user experience;
– personalize content and measure engagement;
– run analytics, advertising, and affiliate programs (see Section 8);
– enforce our Terms of Use, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

5) Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process Personal Data based on:
– consent (e.g., non-essential cookies, marketing emails);
– legitimate interests (e.g., security, analytics, minimal ads measurement);
– contract (providing features/services you request);
– legal obligation.
You may withdraw consent at any time via cookie settings (where available) or by contacting us (see Section 16).

6) Retention

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including:
– providing and improving the Service;

When data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

7) International Transfers

We may store and process data in countries other than your own (including the United States). Where cross-border transfers require safeguards, we use appropriate measures such as contractual protections.

8) Analytics, Advertising & Affiliate Links

Analytics
We may use analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve content and performance. These services may use cookies or similar tech to collect Usage Data.

Advertising (including Google AdSense/Ad Manager)
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads and measure performance based on your visits to Forkono and other sites. You can learn more about how Google uses data and how to control ad personalization in your Google account settings or via industry opt-out tools.

Affiliate Disclosure
Some pages on Forkono may contain affiliate links to products or services we genuinely recommend (such as sheet pans, baking dishes, and thermometers). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliates may use cookies or similar technologies to track referrals.

9) Disclosures of Personal Data

We may share information with:
– Service Providers that help operate the Service (hosting, security, analytics, ad networks, email delivery, affiliate platforms), under appropriate contracts;
– parties to a business transaction (merger, acquisition, or asset sale), where user data may be transferred;
– public authorities or other parties when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, users, or the public;
– other third parties when you give us consent or direction to do so.
We do not sell Personal Data for money. Some U.S. state laws define certain sharing of data for targeted advertising as a “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Data. See Section 11 for opt-out rights.

10) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11) Your Privacy Rights (U.S. State Laws, incl. CA/CPRA)
