How to Make Apple Roses
- Thaw the puff pastry fully in the refrigerator before starting.
- Prepare the lemon water by pouring the lemon juice into a medium bowl filled with cold water.
- Mix the brown sugar with the ground cinnamon in a small bowl until well combined.
- Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray.
- Core the apples and cut them in half lengthwise for easy slicing.
- Soak the apple slices in the lemon water.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to avoid sticking.
- Slice the puff pastry into 6 even strips, each about 2 inches wide.
- Brush each pastry strip with a thin layer of jam.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon brown sugar mixture generously over each strip.
- Microwave the bowl of apple slices for 2 minutes to soften them slightly.
- Arrange apple slices along the top edge of one pastry strip, overlapping them slightly.
- Fold the bottom of the pastry strip upward and roll it gently.
- Place each puff pastry rose in a muffin pan cavity.
- Chill the formed roses in the refrigerator while you preheat your oven to 400°F / 200°C.
- Bake the roses on the middle rack for 40-45 minutes.
- Cool the apple roses on a rack before serving.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
