  • 3 whole Apples choose your favorite variety
  • 1 roll Puff pastry ensure it’s thawed
For the Flavoring
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice prevents browning
  • 2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon enhances warm notes
  • 2 tablespoon Light brown sugar adds sweetness
For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoon Jam use your favorite fruit jam

Method
 

How to Make Apple Roses
  1. Thaw the puff pastry fully in the refrigerator before starting.
  2. Prepare the lemon water by pouring the lemon juice into a medium bowl filled with cold water.
  3. Mix the brown sugar with the ground cinnamon in a small bowl until well combined.
  4. Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray.
  5. Core the apples and cut them in half lengthwise for easy slicing.
  6. Soak the apple slices in the lemon water.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to avoid sticking.
  8. Slice the puff pastry into 6 even strips, each about 2 inches wide.
  9. Brush each pastry strip with a thin layer of jam.
  10. Sprinkle the cinnamon brown sugar mixture generously over each strip.
  11. Microwave the bowl of apple slices for 2 minutes to soften them slightly.
  12. Arrange apple slices along the top edge of one pastry strip, overlapping them slightly.
  13. Fold the bottom of the pastry strip upward and roll it gently.
  14. Place each puff pastry rose in a muffin pan cavity.
  15. Chill the formed roses in the refrigerator while you preheat your oven to 400°F / 200°C.
  16. Bake the roses on the middle rack for 40-45 minutes.
  17. Cool the apple roses on a rack before serving.
  18. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
