How to Make Braided Cinnamon Buns
- Combine warm milk, softened butter, eggs, and yeast in a large bowl.
- Whisk together the bread flour, granulated sugar, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place and cover the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread 1/2 cup softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly the dough into a log shape and cut into strips.
- Braid the strips together and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise the braided dough again for an additional 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
