Ingredients
  

Jelly Mixture
  • 1 cup sour orange juice freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 1 cup sugar granulated or coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons agar agar powder form
Optional Coatings
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • 5 drops food coloring orange or yellow for enhancement

Method
 

Making the Candy
  1. In a large saucepan, mix together the sugar, sour orange juice, and agar agar powder. If you'd like, add a few drops of food coloring.
  2. Stir the mixture CONSTANTLY over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and cook for about 4-5 minutes until it thickens.
  3. Pour the hot mixture into a lined pan and chill in the fridge for at least two hours until set.
  4. Take the pan out, cover an edge with new parchment paper, and sprinkle powdered sugar over the jelly surface.
  5. Dip a knife in warm water to loosen the jelly. Slice it into two blocks.
  6. Gently roll each piece into a tight log.
  7. Cut each log into 1/2-inch pieces. Serve and enjoy!

Notes
