Ingredients
  

Gingerbread Syrup
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 sticks cinnamon for infusion
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 5 pieces whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger adds zesty kick
Cocktail Ingredients
  • 2 ounces vodka neutral base spirit
  • 1 ounce Irish cream liqueur adds creaminess
  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur enhances espresso flavor
  • 1 ounce gingerbread syrup homemade syrup
  • 1 ounce espresso coffee freshly brewed
Garnish
  • 1 cookie gingerbread cookie for garnish

Method
 

Syrup Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, mix dark brown sugar, molasses, water, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, cloves, and fresh grated ginger. Stir together to combine.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally until it thickens slightly.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
Cocktail Mixing
  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine cooled syrup, vodka, Irish cream liqueur, coffee liqueur, gingerbread syrup, and fresh espresso coffee.
  2. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake well for 15-20 seconds until frothy.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  4. Add a gingerbread cookie on the rim of the glass to serve.
