How to Make a Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- Slice the Bread: Cut the bread into four 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Layer the Cheeses: On two slices, add camembert, thyme, lemon zest, and ground pepper.
- Add the Apple: Thinly slice half of an apple and arrange on camembert slices.
- Top with Cheddar: On remaining slices, layer sharp cheddar and place apple slices on top.
- Heat the Skillet: Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat with a light spray of oil.
- Cook the Sandwich: Place the sandwich in the skillet with cheddar side down, and cook until golden.
- Flip and Finish: Spray the top side and flip, cooking until golden brown.
- Check for Doneness: Flip a couple of times for even cooking, then remove from the pan.
- Slice and Serve: Slice in half and serve immediately.
