Making the Pizza
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture along with the olive oil. Stir until the dough forms.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone inside to heat up, if you have one.
- Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Transfer it to a hot baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Brush olive oil on the dough surface. Spread pizza sauce evenly, then sprinkle mozzarella and desired toppings.
- Bake your pizza in the oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
