Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup salsa verde
For the Marinade
  • 0.25 cup fresh lime juice about 2 limes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Baking dish

Method

How to Make Salsa Verde Chicken
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). A hot oven will help cook the chicken evenly and achieve that beautiful golden crust.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken breasts and season with garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat every piece, ensuring maximum flavor absorption.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken in a baking dish and generously pour salsa verde over each piece.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for about 25 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.
  5. Let it rest for five minutes before slicing. Serve with rice or tortillas, drizzled with the remaining sauce.
