Preparation Steps
  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Divide dough into 8 pieces and shape into pretzels.
  5. Boil water with baking soda and drop pretzels in for 30 seconds each.
  6. Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with sea salt, and bake for 12 minutes until golden brown.
